Meta Cell Technology, also known as MCT, is an advanced autologous treatment that enhances PRP by supporting the release of growth factors and exosome-rich cellular signals using controlled photothermal activation.
MCT may be used to support PRP hair restoration, PRP facial rejuvenation, acne scar improvement, skin texture, and overall regenerative treatment outcomes.

Autologous PRP Enhancement
Meta Cell Technology (MCT) is a regenerative treatment system designed to enhance autologous products such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP). Before the prepared plasma is applied or injected, the MCT system exposes it to controlled light wavelengths and temperature through a process called photothermal biomodulation.
This conditioning step is intended to support platelet activity, growth-factor release and autologous exosome signalling. It does not increase the platelet concentration or add donor-derived exosomes. At LMC – Laser Medical Clinic in Richmond Hill, MCT may be incorporated into personalized treatment plans for hair thinning, scalp health, skin texture, acne scars and overall facial rejuvenation.
MCT may be combined with PRP and PRF hair restoration or a PRP or PRF facial treatment after an individual assessment.
Uses material prepared from the patient’s own blood, without donor-derived or synthetic exosomes.
May support scalp quality and existing hair follicles as part of a personalized hair-restoration plan.
May be used to support collagen activity and improvements in skin texture, tone, firmness and radiance.
Adds a controlled photothermal-conditioning step to an existing PRP-based treatment protocol.
MCT is designed to condition the patient’s own prepared plasma before treatment. The appropriate use, delivery method and number of sessions depend on the treatment area, medical history, baseline condition and clinical assessment.
Learn what to expect from MCT treatment for hair restoration and skin rejuvenation at LMC in Richmond Hill, serving Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area.
Meta Cell Technology is a medical system that uses controlled light and temperature to condition an autologous product such as PRP before treatment. This process is called photothermal biomodulation. It is designed to support platelet performance, growth-factor release and autologous cellular signalling without adding donor-derived exosomes.
Standard PRP treatment involves preparing platelet-rich plasma and delivering it to the target area. MCT adds a controlled photothermal-conditioning step after preparation and before delivery. The MCT system does not concentrate additional platelets; it is designed to influence how the prepared plasma and platelets perform.
Depending on the assessment, MCT may be incorporated into plans for early to moderate hair thinning, pattern hair loss, scalp support, uneven skin texture, dullness, fine lines, reduced firmness and acne scarring. It is not appropriate for every cause of hair loss or every skin concern, so diagnosis and treatment selection matter.
MCT works with material prepared from the patient’s own blood. According to the manufacturer, its photothermal-biomodulation process is designed to promote the release of the patient’s own exosomes and support growth-factor activity. It does not use donor-derived or synthetic exosomes.
Comfort depends on the treatment area and delivery method. Fine-needle injections may cause brief pinching, pressure or tenderness. A topical numbing option or other comfort measures may be discussed when appropriate. Temporary redness, sensitivity, swelling or minor bruising can occur.
There is no single schedule that is appropriate for everyone. Hair-restoration and skin-rejuvenation plans often involve an initial series followed by maintenance, but the number and spacing of treatments depend on the concern, baseline condition, biological response and whether MCT is being combined with another procedure. Your provider will recommend a schedule after assessment.
MCT is specifically designed to condition autologous products such as PRP. At LMC, it may be incorporated into a personalized PRP- or PRF-based plan for the scalp or skin when clinically appropriate. The exact preparation system and protocol are selected after reviewing the treatment goal and patient factors.
Downtime is generally limited, although it varies with the delivery method and treatment area. Redness, swelling, tenderness, bruising or small injection marks may occur temporarily. Follow the aftercare instructions provided by your clinician, including any guidance about exercise, heat exposure, alcohol, sun exposure or skin products.
Skin changes such as improved radiance or texture may become noticeable over several weeks, while collagen-related changes develop gradually. Hair-restoration results generally take longer because hair grows in cycles; reduced shedding may be noticed before visible changes in density or thickness. Results and timelines vary, and no specific outcome can be guaranteed.
Potential candidates include men and women with early to moderate thinning, pattern hair loss or medically assessed shedding in areas where functioning follicles remain. Sudden, severe or unexplained hair loss requires appropriate medical evaluation. Suitability also depends on medical history, blood health, scalp condition and treatment goals.
Because MCT conditions the patient’s own prepared plasma rather than applying light energy directly to the skin, it may be considered across a range of skin tones and hair types. That does not make it universally suitable. Medical history, the cause of hair loss, skin or scalp condition and the planned delivery method must still be assessed.
Individual results vary. A consultation is required to determine whether MCT, PRP, PRF or another treatment is appropriate for your hair or skin concern.

Photothermal PRP Conditioning
Meta Cell Technology (MCT) adds a controlled photothermal-conditioning step to platelet-rich plasma before it is applied or injected. The MCT system uses specific light wavelengths and temperature settings designed to support platelet performance, growth-factor release and autologous cellular signalling.
MCT does not increase the number of platelets in the prepared PRP and does not add donor-derived or synthetic exosomes. Instead, it conditions the patient’s own prepared plasma before treatment. At LMC – Laser Medical Clinic in Richmond Hill, MCT may be incorporated into personalized protocols for the scalp, face, neck, décolleté or hands after an individual assessment.
Standard PRP treatment prepares and concentrates platelets from the patient’s blood before delivering the plasma to a target area. MCT adds a separate photothermal-conditioning stage intended to influence platelet activity, growth-factor release and exosome-related communication before delivery.
MCT may be incorporated into PRP hair-restoration treatment, PRP facial rejuvenation and other clinician-selected regenerative skin protocols. Treatment suitability, delivery method and session frequency depend on the concern, medical history and assessment findings.
Designed to support platelet performance, growth-factor activity and cell-to-cell communication.
May support collagen activity and gradual improvements in texture, firmness and overall skin quality.
May support scalp health and existing follicles as part of a treatment series for suitable candidates.
Potential treatment areas include the scalp, face, neck, décolleté and hands, depending on assessment.
